Thank you for a wonderful day at Woolfest Auckland! I was so thrilled to see so many of you and your gorgeous shawls and hats! I’m already planning for next year :)
Are you near Warkworth in Auckland this weekend? Pop in and see me at Robyn Egge Yarn Shop between 10 and 2 on Saturday. I’m having my first trunk show and I’ll have all my shawls and hats and printed copies of my patterns. Join me to try everything on, chat about how to style your shawl, what designs suit you and learn about blocking.
I had the pleasure of talking to Tash from Holland Road Yarn Company this week. Tash leapt into yarn dyeing after spending some time in the UK and shortly afterwards opened her own fabulous yarn shop in Wellington, New Zealand.
We talked about all sorts of things including how she got started, opening a yarn shop and pricing issues, great customers and the community that builds around a yarn shop, trying new things and craft trends.
We mention:
Tash’s handdyed yarn “Knitsch”
Tash’s grandmother Margaret Stove
The “indie shelf” at Holland Road
The fantastic theme tune for my podcast is written and performed by the New Zealand group Mr Roberelli
Enjoy!
